Our core team is small, but our network is large ... and this is intentional.

Our core team’s diverse backgrounds, combined with our national and international experience allows us to draw on each other’s perspectives and reach into our extensive industry networks and provide creative solutions.

We believe in the power of partnerships and share a common passion for creativity, innovation, and inspiring others to succeed. Advocates for appreciative inquiry, we combine theory and practice, with educators and operators, as we help others discover, dream, design and shape their destiny.

Nancy loves the tourism industry. Customer centric to the core, she is a builder; not the bricks and mortar type, rather one who builds the skills and knowledge of people in the tourism industry.

Professionally trained as an educator, instructional designer, evaluator and researcher, Dr. Nancy shifted her career into tourism 20 years ago and never looked back.

A co-founder of the Tourism Cafe and an expert on experiential travel, she walks the talk when advocating that businesses “Dare to be Different” in a competitive marketplace.

Often called the Energizer Bunny, Nancy’s energy is felt throughout Canada and abroad as she designs and delivers interactive and engaging tourism training, often with the Tourism Cafe’s collaborating partners.

A sought out conference speaker, Nancy is passionate about the value of small, medium, and rural business as she works with destinations to diversify their visitor appeal and formulate strategic and destination plans.

A musical theatre buff she also loves cycling, hiking, swimming, and travelling.

Lesley is a tourism and destination marketing professional with extensive experience in planning, developing, executing, and evaluating community, national and international initiatives.

Professionally trained as a marketer, destination developer and educator, Lesley’s diverse career in multiple tourism sectors spans economic development, stakeholder relations, research, sales, event planning, and tour guiding.

Lesley’s talent for leading industry outreach training and development was solidified during her tenure with Destination Canada where she created and managed the successful Canadian Signature Experiences collection and Explorer Quotient research programs, including growing Canada's coast to coast training capacity for the Explorer Quotient Authorized Training team.

Her international experience combined with conversational skills in French, Italian, German and Spanish are a real asset to the Tourism Cafe as she begins to lead and supports our different training, and development projects.

An avid sports enthusiast, in her spare time Lesley loves cycling, running, skiing, and relaxing in crazy yoga poses.

Todd is the co-founder of the Tourism Cafe Canada and Northern Edge Algonquin located in Ontario. A successful entrepreneur, he is passionate about helping communities identify, connect, and profit from their built, natural, and cultural resources.

Professionally trained as an educator, Todd collaborates with community partners to design award-winning retreat experiences, corporate training, leads best practice missions, and is the creative mind behind our Ignite program.

As an owner/operator of an off-the-grid eco-retreat, Todd walks the talk as an advocate for responsible, sustainable tourism. He’s a firm believer in the power of partnerships between tourism allies, their extended community (many who are not traditionally considered to play a role in tourism), and economic development agencies to create rich visitor experiences that have broad and deep economic impact.

A family man at heart, he loves spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. But he’s also a golf maniac who can be found planning the next getaway with his mates.

Paul is the behind-the-scenes engine of the Tourism Cafe, managing the company’s finances, contracts, logistics, travel, and contributes to our destination visitor experience assessment projects.

Professionally trained as a civil engineer, with a professional project management designation, he is the team’s resident francophone leading the french research, writing, editing, and translation requirements.

Paul is a key player with the Tourism Cafe’s visitor experience assessments, was an evaluator for Destination Canada’s Canadian Signature Experience collections’ francophone submissions, and his engineering skills are a real asset when our projects involve land-use, and capital construction elements.

An avid traveller, if he’s not making Tourism Cafe project reservations, he’s booking personal travel where you will find him golfing, snorkelling, swimming, cycling, and hiking.
