About the Tourism Cafe!

We are a boutique tourism training and development company. Experts in experiential travel and customer experience management, we specialize in product, market and destination development, and visitor serving. From strategic planning destination marketing organizations or economic development agencies to 1:1 support to small business, our range of programs and services have contributed to the success of a wide range of tourism businesses and organizations.

Our core services include:

From rural and remote communities to our urban centers, from tourism professionals to volunteers and students, we work a great deal with destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and economic development agencies to design training and add capacity to your business development so that your business can evolve with the travellers' demands in ways that are customer-driven and increase your competitiveness.

The Tourism Cafe's programs and services are personalized in their design to support individual owners, operators, managers, supervisors, destination marketing organizations and government agencies with a tourism mandate and a learning or business development need.

Keys to Our Training Approach

Rather that just arrive in your community and deliver a canned training program, we work with you to build your capacity as part of the process and identify how to incorporate a legacy element that remains in the community.

Working with a ground team comprised of individuals representing our client's interests, these people support the development process and take responsibility for targeted activities in the community to reduce the overall project costs of out-sourcing 100% of the project. We build the capacity of the ground team as part of developing the course.

Our collaborating partners are individuals who have a distinct area of expertise that will benefit the project. They are integral to ensuring that you get the best mix of talent for your investment. All our partner are active in their areas of expertise be that sustainability, digital media, marketing, experience development, etc.

Keys to Our Development Work

We listen and learn from you, share our perspectives, then collaborate on the creating the solutions and outcomes that work for you!  The templates, constructs and models we use are grounded in theory and practice to keep them credible and real.
