In my last post I discussed some critical success factors related to infrastructure and place in developing the road cycling experience. In this post I focus on developing bike-friendly accommodation and cycling support services that are integral to a positive visitor experience.
Travel Oregon has a superb bike-friendly business program that it has developed to help businesses
1) understand the economic impact and opportunity available in focusing on the cycling tourist, and
2) provides guidelines on the recommended services and amenities they need to develop to attract this market segment.
I’d highly recommend watching the videos and reviewing the materials to gain a more in-depth understanding about how to service the cycling visitor.
